Growing up during the Lebanese civil war with his conservative Catholic father and authoritarian Syrian mother, a young gay man is burdened by inferiority complex. This leads him to join the armed forces, in order to be able to prove himself as a real man. But it does not turn out the way he had planned and, deeply traumatized, he ends up in Spain where he, 37 years after leaving Lebanon, tries to sort his life out.

Through a mix of documentary, animation, theater and archive Miguel’s War tells a story about confronting oneself, unrequited love and catharsis.
