Alecio Araci on Pasolini and Bimbo Bambini
Thursday 6 October, 20.00, Bio Aspen (following the screening of Teorema)
Alecio Araci is one of Sweden’s most exciting young directors and a well known persona within the Swedish queer scene due to his involvment in Dyke Hard and by taking home the prestigious title of Mr Leather Europe among other achivments. Currently, he is working on his feature length debut Bimbo Bambino, a playful film about Lyosha who works as an escort in Stockholm together with his friends. Even though he is often in danger there are few things that make Lyosha worried or sad. What he doesn’t know is that the Devil discovered his carefree lifestyle and is highly provoked by it. Bimbo Bambino follows Lyosha’s fight against the Devil and his own bad conscience as he tries to find a life where he can be totally himself.
Pasolini has always been an inspiration to Alecio Araci and the master’s aesthetic is definitely visible in Bimbo Bambino as well. We have invited Alecio to speak more about what Pasolini means to him and to the art of filmmaking as well as to give us a sneak peak of the film. Exclusivly for Cinema Queer!
The talk will be moderated by Göran Hugo Olsson, Bimbo Bambinos producer.
