Orlando is a film out of the ordinary, based on Virginina Woolf’s classic novel. Or what should we say about a film that follows one and the same person through 400 years of European history – from the 17th century to our time – and where the main character transitions along the way?

It is a story about a young nobleman in Queen Elizabeth’s time who falls in love with a Russian princess. But love is unhappy and in the middle of a bloody battle, the sad noble turns into a woman and returns to a London that is now in the middle of the Victorian 19th century. As if this were not enough, our Gentlehen finally finds themself in our own vibrant century where the winner loses everything and the loser wins themself.
