Soura presents

Wednesday October 2 at 16.15, Konträr
Soura Film Festival is a Berlin-based queer film festival that highlights cinematic talent from the SWANA (Southwest Asia and North Africa) region. When the festival last year showed its support for Palestine/Gaza, the political opposition in Germany became palpable. They lost their grants but continued and are soon organizing their fifth festival. The short film screening will be followed by a talk with founder and artistic director Robert Moussa.

We regret to inform you of changes to this Wednesday’s program, which was set to feature guests from Soura Film Festival, Adira Party and BLOW.

As many of you are aware, the Israeli entity’s intensified bombing of Palestine, Lebanon, and other regions has led to a tragic loss of life, displacing thousands and creating an escalating humanitarian crisis.

In light of these devastating events, our invited guests—Robert Moussa (Soura Film Festival), Hassandra (Adira Party), and George Chamoun (BLOW)—are unable to attend. With strong ties to Lebanon and their families directly affected by the ongoing situation, they find it deeply challenging to focus on events elsewhere during such a critical time.

The film program curated by Robert Moussa will still be screened but at Konträr, Östgötagatan 33 Wednesday the 2nd of October 16:15. Tickets can be found at cinema queer.se.

We appreciate your understanding in these difficult times. Our thoughts are with all those affected by the violence. We will keep you informed of any further updates. Thank you for your continued support and solidarity.
