Soura Film Festival \u00e4r en Berlin-baserad queerfilmfestival som belyser filmiska talanger fr\u00e5n SWANA-regionen (Sydv\u00e4stra Asien och Nordafrika). N\u00e4r festivalen f\u00f6rra \u00e5ret visade sitt st\u00f6d f\u00f6r Palestina\/Gaza blev det politiska motst\u00e5ndet i Tyskland p\u00e5tagligt. De f\u00f6rlorade sina bidrag men fortsatte och arrangerar snart sin femte festival. I ett samarbete med Cinema Queer och Blow presenterar de p\u00e5 \u00e5rets festival ett kortfilmspaket. Visningen f\u00f6ljs av ett samtal med grundaren och konstn\u00e4rliga ledaren av Soura Film Festival, Robert Moussa.<\/p>\n

Sultana om utmaningarna med att upptr\u00e4da som dragqueen i konservativa samh\u00e4llen, egyptiska filmikoner, om att h\u00e4vda sin existens och sitt sj\u00e4lvuttryck som artist och konstn\u00e4r, och att \u00e4lska sig sj\u00e4lv.<\/p>\n

\nMona, en ung kvinna i London, hittar arkiverade fotografier av arabiska kvinnor som korsar sig p\u00e5 1920-talet. N\u00e5gonstans mellan sina fantasier och verkligheten b\u00f6rjar hon en febrig resa f\u00f6r att avsl\u00f6ja f\u00f6rlorade historier och sin egen identitet.<\/p>\n

As many of you are aware, the Israeli entity\u2019s intensified bombing of Palestine, Lebanon, and other regions has led to a tragic loss of life, displacing thousands and creating an escalating humanitarian crisis.<\/p>\n

In light of these devastating events, our invited guests\u2014Robert Moussa (Soura Film Festival), Hassandra (Adira Party), and George Chamoun (BLOW)\u2014are unable to attend. With strong ties to Lebanon and their families directly affected by the ongoing situation, they find it deeply challenging to focus on events elsewhere during such a critical time.<\/p>\n

The film program curated by Robert Moussa will still be screened but at Kontr\u00e4r, \u00d6stg\u00f6tagatan 33 Wednesday the 2nd of October 16:15. Tickets can be found at cinema queer.se.<\/p>\n
